Development taking place in the Cherry Green/Westmill area
East Herts District Council are aware of unauthorised development taking place in the Cherry Green/Westmill area near Buntingford and are taking steps to address this.
Children’s Playground soon to be reopened
The Children’s Playground refurbishment is well on its way and the safety fencing will be removed on Friday.
The 1962 roundabout will remain fenced off until we are able to complete the more complicated works on the footplates and final refurbishment.
The Activity Trail is still awaiting its wooden replacement parts (16 week wait time!) but when we receive those this will be fully refurbished.
Children’s Playground New Safety Surfacing
The Children’s Playground now has smart new green safety surfacing under each piece of equipment with a path linking each item.
Children’s Playground welcomes ‘Charlie Chicken’
The Children’s Playground works are on schedule, despite the heavy rain recently. The existing equipment is being painted and the new pieces are being assembled and installed. The new safety surfacing will be laid next Thursday and Friday.
Aspenden is delighted to welcome ‘Charlie Chicken’ who very soon will be joined by new friends in the dedicated area for younger children’s play.
Temporary closing of Aspenden Road, Buntingford
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Aspenden Road, Buntingford from its junction with The Street north eastwards for a distance of approximately 333 metres (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via 3U20 (unnamed road),
Children’s Playground refurbishment works are underway!
The Broadmead Leisure team started work on the Aspenden Village Green Children’s Playground on Wednesday 8th September 2021.
Refurbishment of Aspenden Village Green Children’s Playground
Aspenden Parish Council are delighted that the refurbishment of the Children’s Playground on Aspenden Village Green will start week beginning 6th September 2021.
The Playground will be closed to users for approximately 3 weeks whilst the work is carried out.
Councillors requested the works be delayed until the school summer holiday period had finished so not to disappoint users during the summer break.

The unaudited Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) 2020 – 2021 has been published with this notice (attached).
As it has yet to be reviewed by the appointed auditor, it is subject to change as a result of that review.

New Parish Council Noticeboard
Aspenden Parish Council are pleased to announce that they have finally been able to erect the new noticeboard on Aspenden Village Green. The noticeboard was purchased last year but due to ongoing Covid-19 restrictions installation hadn’t been possible up until now.
The noticeboard will primarily display Parish Council notices but anybody can request to place information on the noticeboard for the benefit of Aspenden residents by contacting the Parish Council Clerk via
