Have your say! Engagement sessions launched to help shape the future of parking in East Herts
Help East Herts Council improve parking in the district.
We want to improve parking to deliver fairer services and create a healthier, greener environment for our communities. Throughout September, East Herts District Council will conduct in-person and online engagement sessions to gauge public opinion on proposed parking initiatives in the district. Following an engagement period, a new parking strategy will be outlined in late 2024, with the strategy expected to be implemented in 2025.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to have their say on proposed changes and to suggest their own improvements to parking in the district, in order to help the council improve the environment for all, and to help make our streets better and safer for all means of transport. NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access:
An alternative route will be via 3U20 (unnamed road), Aspenden Road, London Road, A10 (unnamed road), the A10 Puckeridge Bypass/B1368 Buntingford Road roundabout, A10 (unnamed road), Station Hill, C16 (unnamed road) and 3U20 (unnamed road).
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 6 August 2024 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
Thanks go to Councillor Tom Poulton for organising a willing group of Aspenden residents to strim the perimeter of Aspenden Village Green and the Children’s Playground area and making the green look beautiful again … just in time for the sunshine!
Aspenden is proud to receive sincere thanks via a D-Day Certificate for their contribution to D-Day 80, the international commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the five beaches in Normandy, France, on 6th June 1944.
In addition Aspenden is recognised as one of the many participants of the lighting of a Lamp Light of Peace. See Aspenden listed on page 2 of the attached document.
The statement of accounts will not be audited on account of that authority’s self-certified status as exempt, unless either a request for an opportunity to question the auditor about the authority’s accounting records under section 26(2) or an objection under section 27(1) of the Act, results in the involvement of the local auditor.

The Aspenden ANNUAL PARISH MEETING will be held on Tuesday 21st May 2024 at 7.00pm in The Fox.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Aspenden Parish Council is very aware of the ongoing flooding on and around the site of the Children’s Playground.
We are currently looking at drainage solutions and hope to be able to remedy the problem.
We apologise to disappointed users and hope they will be able to enjoy the playground again soon.
