Sunday Act of Remembrance

“Live Stream” of Remembrance Service, 8th November 2020

Following the statement regarding the National Lockdown in England that comes into effect from midnight on Wednesday 4thNovember, Buntingford Town Council has received advice from Government that the Remembrance Service due to be held on Sunday 8th November 2020 can go ahead, albeit with restrictions.

A full risk assessment has been carried out of the service which will be led by the Reverend Ian Hill of St Peter’s Church.

In order to keep members of the public safe and to ensure Safe Distancing, the service will be short with only 3 Wreaths being laid at the War Memorial by representatives of Buntingford Town Council, the Royal British Legion and Serving Service Men and Women.

The area around the War Memorial will be cordoned off and only those taking part in the service will be allowed into the area during the service. Attendees are restricted to ensure Safe Distancing and members of the public are requested not to attend.

You are very welcome to attend the service online which will be “live streamed” to the Buntingford Town Council Website, www.buntingford-tc.gov.uk and the Buntingford Town Council Facebook page www.facebook.com/buntingfordtc. Live streaming will start at 10.45am and the service will commence at 10.50am.

The Royal British Legion is encouraging people to show their respect by holding a two minute silence at their doorstep.

Any other organisations that may wish to lay a wreath are requested to do so at any other time.

An act of Remembrance Service will take place at the War Memorial in St Mary’s Church, Aspenden, during the day.
