Contribute to Hertfordshire County Council’s budget decision-making process

Hertfordshire parish and town councils, and all Hertfordshire residents, are being invited to have their say and contribute to Hertfordshire County Council’s budget decision-making process. An online survey is available at www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/budgetsurvey until 1 February 2021.

You can access the draft Integrated Plan 2021-22 (the proposed budget) and also summary highlights from www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/budgetsurvey – alongside the five survey questions.

We want to hear your views on how we should be spending your council tax money over the coming year. You will also be able to complete a question (number five) to say that you’re responding as a resident.

Temporary road closure in Westmill that could affect Aspenden

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”):

That length of 3U20 (unnamed road), Westmill from its junction with C16 (unnamed road) north westwards to its junction with Aspenden Road, a distance of approximately 1410 metres.

An alternative route will be via C16 (unnamed road), Station Hill, A10 Puckeridge to Buntingford, London Road and Aspenden Road.

Sunday Act of Remembrance

“Live Stream” of Remembrance Service, 8th November 2020

Following the statement regarding the National Lockdown in England that comes into effect from midnight on Wednesday 4thNovember, Buntingford Town Council has received advice from Government that the Remembrance Service due to be held on Sunday 8th November 2020 can go ahead, albeit with restrictions.

A full risk assessment has been carried out of the service which will be led by the Reverend Ian Hill of St Peter’s Church.

In order to keep members of the public safe and to ensure Safe Distancing, the service will be short with only 3 Wreaths being laid at the War Memorial by representatives of Buntingford Town Council, the Royal British Legion and Serving Service Men and Women.

The area around the War Memorial will be cordoned off and only those taking part in the service will be allowed into the area during the service. Attendees are restricted to ensure Safe Distancing and members of the public are requested not to attend.

You are very welcome to attend the service online which will be “live streamed” to the Buntingford Town Council Website, www.buntingford-tc.gov.uk and the Buntingford Town Council Facebook page www.facebook.com/buntingfordtc. Live streaming will start at 10.45am and the service will commence at 10.50am.

The Royal British Legion is encouraging people to show their respect by holding a two minute silence at their doorstep.

Any other organisations that may wish to lay a wreath are requested to do so at any other time.

An act of Remembrance Service will take place at the War Memorial in St Mary’s Church, Aspenden, during the day.

We give information and advice to people to help solve their problems. We also work to make life better by campaigning locally and nationally on the issues that keep causing problems

Dandara Public Consultation Thursday 10th September 4pm – 7pm

Since the approval of Keepers Chase last year, Dandara are in a position to acquire a small parcel of land adjoining the north of Keepers Chase. Following pre-application advice from the Council, Dandara are currently preparing an application for 23 dwellings on the site which will be submitted to East Hertfordshire District Council in due course.

Dandara want to ensure that residents were aware of the application and will therefore be holding a public consultation on Thursday 10th September at their sales office at Keepers Chase from 4.00m until 7.00pm.

Covid-19 procedures will be in place at the event. Masks must be worn inside the sales office and temperatures will be checked upon entry. Access within the sales office will be limited to 6 people and you may be asked to wait outside if at capacity. There will however be leaflets available to take away if at capacity and do not want to wait. Social distancing will be adhered to at all times and sanitisation will be available.
